Job summary

Flatbush Development Corporation, Inc. in Brooklyn seeks an Activity Specialist to design, implement and facilitate engaging afterschool activities for students in grades K-8 within a school-based program.

You will supervise participants, ensure safety, and align with DYCD/DOH/DOE guidelines while fostering youth development through structured lessons, creative projects, and social-emotional growth.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience with school-age youth.
• Experience designing and facilitating structured activities for children in K-8.
• Knowledge of youth development, SEL, and trauma-informed practices.

Responsibilities

• Supervise participants in safe, inclusive afterschool activities.
• Design and deliver structured hands-on activities across arts, STEM, literacy, recreation, and enrichment.
• Plan projects and performances to showcase student achievement.
• Adapt activities for multilingual learners and diverse developmental levels.
