Job summary

Divergent is seeking an Automation Engineer to join the Advance Manufacturing team in the Los Angeles area. You will implement advanced automation and robotics in our production environment, supporting daily operations and scalability.

This hands-on role delivers high-precision hardware for automotive, aerospace, and defense programs. The ideal candidate has robotics simulation experience, proficiency in CAD/SIM tools, and strong data-driven problem-solving abilities, with a focus on safety and

Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent) or 6+ years in aerospace and/or automotive manufacturing.
  • 1+ years performing Robotic Simulation studies for industrial robotic systems or 2+ years of hands-on programming of industrial six axis robots (Kuka, ABB, FANUC, Yaskawa).
  • ProficiencyInCAD (preferable NX) and Simulation Tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and climb ladders.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with engineers and project teams.
  • Must identify and resolve issues quickly using data-driven approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Create Simulation Studies in Process Simulate on Teamcenter (Tecnomatix).
  • Maintain customer manufacturing data for automated work centers.
  • Maintain kinematic libraries of hardware systems in robotic simulations.
  • Generate optimal assembly sequences and validate feasibility.
  • Perform reach and access studies and validate robot motions.
  • Program robots and automated systems to perform specific tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing automation systems.
  • Create and maintain documentation for automation systems and training materials.
  • Train and mentor team members on automation operation and maintenance.
  • Analyze data to identify improvement opportunities and inform development.
