Job summary

Mytra in Brisbane, CA is seeking an Engineering Technician I to join the Bot Prototype team. You’ll assist with mechanical assembly, wire harness builds, and validation tasks, learning from senior technicians as you grow into more responsibility in robotics prototyping.

This on-site role rewards curiosity, steady hands, and adaptability. You’ll follow drawings, record logs, stay safety-conscious, and help the lab iterate quickly while building foundational robotics skills.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mechanical or electro-mechanical work experience.
• Comfort with basic hand tools and eagerness to learn assembly and shop fundamentals.
• Ability to read instructions, drawings, and procedures; ask questions when unclear.
• Good communication; share updates and raise issues early.
• Comfortable around heavy equipment and following PPE safety practices.
• Interest in robotics and the build/break/prototype cycle with growth potential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mechanical assembly and wire harness build-up on bots and subassemblies.
• Perform build/rework tasks using established procedures and basic soldering under guidance.
• Identify and report build issues clearly to help diagnose and resolve.
• Record build logs, measurements, and results in provided formats.
• Use hand and shop tools (drill press, band saw, grinders, etc.) under supervision.
• Support validation and bring-up tasks, capturing data accurately.
• Help keep the lab and shop safe, clean, and well-stocked.
