Job summary

eBay Inc. is hiring a Mechanical Production Support Engineer to own mechanical assembly processes for our card sorting robotic platforms.

You will work with a cross-functional team to improve tooling and assembly efficiency for reliable customer solutions. The role requires a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience, hands-on CAD with SolidWorks or Siemens NX, and experience in prototype testing, design for manufacturing, and electro-mechanical assemblies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering or a related field, or a combination of education and experience.
• Experience with Computer Aided Design, SolidWorks or Siemens NX preferred.
• Experience with assembling and testing prototypes.
• Experience with design for manufacturing.
• Experience owning deliverables for complex electro-mechanical system assembly.
• Experience with miniature pneumatic and vacuum systems is a plus.
• Experience with systems that handle paper and/or cardboard.
• Experience with motion control principles.
• Experience with triboelectric charge mitigation and plastics.
• Experience with Raspberry Pi or other SBCs.
• Experience with 3D Printing.
• Interest in hobby gaming industry and collectible cards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with specialists, assembly technicians, quality technicians, and customer support teams to build reliable solutions.
• Design and implement tests involving card handling and mechanical designs.
• Own mechanical improvements to current and future product assembly processes.
• Own deliverables and update collaborators on projects.
