Albany Medical Center is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to join the busy Perioperative Surgical team. You will work with accomplished surgeons, assist robotic procedures, and support a wide range of specialties in a collaborative learning environment at the main campus in Albany, NY, with occasional work at the South Clinical Campus.

The role offers flexible scheduling options, a typical Monday–Friday daytime schedule, and opportunities for additional shifts.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant degree program or Nurse Practitioner with RNFA training.
• Licensed and actively registered as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in New York State.
• ACLS/BLS certification required.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• HIPAA compliance at all times.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perioperative care for surgical patients.
• Assist surgeons during a wide range of procedures, including robotic-assisted surgery across multiple specialties.
• Perform first- and second-assist duties in the operating room.
• Collaborate with perioperative nursing and surgical teams for safe, efficient care.
• Engage in mentorship and ongoing training within a collaborative learning environment.
• Maintain proficiency in evolving surgical techniques and perioperative best practices.
• Document encounters, operative notes, and findings accurately.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
