Albany Medical Center seeks a full-time Physician Assistant to join its busy Perioperative Surgical team. You will work with surgeons, assist a wide range of procedures including robotic help, and contribute to ongoing mentorship and patient care excellence.

This role offers schedule flexibility, with options for four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour days, located at the main campus in Albany NY, and opportunities for additional weekend shifts. The team emphasizes learning and high‑quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Licensed and actively registered as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in New York State.
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant degree program or NP with RNFA training.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
• HIPAA compliant at all times.
• ACLS/BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perioperative care for surgical patients.
• Assist surgeons during a wide range of procedures, including robotic-assisted surgeries.
• Perform first- and second-assist duties in the operating room.
• Collaborate with perioperative nursing staff and surgical teams to ensure safe, efficient patient care.
• Participate in a collaborative learning environment with mentorship across multiple specialties.
• Document patient encounters, operative notes, and clinical findings accurately.
• Engage in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives within the surgical department.
