Job summary

Albany Medical Center's Orthopedic and Robotic Surgical Services seeks a full-time Physician Assistant to join our busy Perioperative Surgical team on the main campus in Albany, NY, with occasional work at the South Clinical Campus.

You will provide comprehensive perioperative care, assist surgeons during robotic-assisted general surgery, urology, gynecology, thoracic & colorectal, and total joints, with first- and second-assist roles, and collaborate with nursing and surgical teams.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant degree program or NP with RNFA training.
• Licensed and actively registered as PA or NP in New York State.
• ACLS/BLS certification required; HIPAA compliant at all times.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perioperative care for surgical patients.
• Assist surgeons during robotic-assisted and other procedures across multiple specialties.
• Perform first-assist and second-assist duties in the operating room.
• Collaborate with perioperative nursing and surgical teams to ensure safe, efficient care.
• Maintain proficiency in evolving surgical techniques and perioperative best practices.
• Document encounters, operative notes, and findings per standards.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
