Job summary

Samsung Research America is seeking a Robotics Systems Architect to own the end-to-end software architecture for our robot platform. As an early team member, you’ll work across software teams to integrate reasoning, dexterity, perception, and simulation into a cohesive platform.

You will define architectural patterns, engineering practices, and infrastructure, including interfaces, CI/CD, containerization, and deployment strategies, enabling rapid iteration and scalable growth in production

Qualifications

• MS degree in CS/EE/Robotics or equivalent
• 16+ years of state-of-the-art robotics R&D experience
• Proficiency in Python and C++, with Linux-based software
• Experience with ROS/ROS2 and robotics hardware integration
• Experience designing software components and defining interfaces in complex systems
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Git, CI/CD, and automated testing
• Ability to implement maintainable engineering practices in fast-moving research
• Strong troubleshooting, collaboration, and documentation skills

Responsibilities

• Guide cross-platform robotics software architecture, including component interfaces and integration
• Establish guidelines for repository organization, coding standards, reviews, testing and documentation
• Develop and integrate Python and C++ software within ROS/ROS2-based systems
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated integration tests for simulation and real robots
• Maintain Docker-based development and runtime environments across x86-64 and ARM platforms
• Improve software deployment, logging, and troubleshooting workflows for robot computers and lab systems
• Support reproducible AI development environments and cloud-based training workflows with researchers
