Job summary

Agility Robotics is seeking a Manager, Data Collection to lead and scale the team responsible for teleoperation data collection supporting robot learning at Agility Robotics.

This role owns the daily operating rhythm of data collection, including operator staffing, rig readiness, campaign execution, vendor labor management, and throughput/quality metrics to ensure data meets AI teams’ needs.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in technical operations, data operations, manufacturing, or production environments.
• 3+ years of experience leading frontline or technical teams, including hiring and mentoring.
• Experience with teleoperation rigs, VR/XR capture, or motion capture.
• Experience running a metrics-driven operation with throughput, quality, and utilization targets.
• Experience managing vendors or contract labor and SLAs.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the data collection team, including operators and data collection specialists in Fremont.
• Own hiring, interview processes, and scaling the team to meet collection demand.
• Develop onboarding and training programs with certifications for teleoperation rigs and protocols.
• Oversee shift scheduling, extended hours, and weekend coverage as milestones require.
• Create SOPs, work instructions, and change control for protocols and hardware.
• Partner with AI Engineering to translate model roadmap into concrete collection plans.
