Job summary

Field AI is seeking a Mechanical Systems Intern to help design and implement mechanical systems that house sensing and compute platforms for real-world robotic deployments. You will work on ruggedized enclosures, thermal management, and manufacturability, contributing across CAD through production and field support.

You will collaborate with electrical, compute, and systems engineers to build integrated solutions, with opportunities to contribute toward system reliability and production

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD platforms.
• Familiarity with FEA and thermal modeling tools.
• Experience designing hardware robust to vibration, shock, and environmental exposure.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement mechanical systems housing sensing and compute platforms.
• Develop ruggedized enclosures, thermal management, and manufacturability solutions.
• Collaborate with electrical, compute, and systems engineers across lifecycle stages.
• Create mechanical drawings, BOMs, and assembly instructions; support QA and fabrication.
