Job summary

Standard Bots in Boston is hiring two Mechanical Engineers to join the Bolt team early in their careers. You will design, build, and test robotic assemblies as part of a mobile manipulation platform.

This on-site role offers hands-on work next to the build area and electronics lab, with relocation assistance available as you ramp up. You should have a mechanical engineering degree (or related) with 0–3 years of hardware experience, strong SolidWorks skills, and a hands-on, collaborative mindset

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 0–3 years of hands-on hardware experience.
• Experience with SolidWorks and drawings.
• Ability to work in a fast-moving, on-site workshop.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design parts and assemblies in SolidWorks with proper tolerances.
• Build and test prototypes, order parts, document results.
• Perform first-pass engineering analysis on loads and stress.
• Support cross-functional builds with EE, software, and test.
• Maintain BOMs, drawings, and PDM records.
• Learn the product by assembling and testing robots.
