Nabla in Charlestown/Boston is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design innovative systems for AI‑driven robots, owning designs from concept through fabrication.

You will create detailed 3D models and drawings, run mechanical simulations, prototype, test, and iterate to achieve cost‑effective, manufacturable solutions while collaborating with electrical and software teams.

This hands‑on role requires vendor coordination, travel about 25%, and a strong background in robotics or automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 3+ years experience in mechanical design, preferably robotics or automation.
• Experience with industrial design or special purpose machinery is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems and components for AI-driven robots.
• Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings for fabrication.
• Conduct mechanical simulations and performance testing to validate designs.
• Build, test, and iterate prototypes hands-on.
• Collaborate with engineering teams for integration with electrical and software systems.
• Source components and coordinate with vendors on fabrication, quality, and lead times.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25%.
