Job summary

Walden Robotics in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, build, and ship high-performance robotic systems. You will own the mechanical components and subassemblies from concept through production, partnering with controls, electrical, firmware, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust hardware and scalable designs.

The role emphasizes hands-on bring-up, system integration, validation, and tight collaboration across disciplines to deliver reliable, high-volume production parts.

Qualifications

• 3+ years delivering mechanical or electromechanical products from concept through production.
• Strong mechanical design and packaging experience.
• Proficient 3D CAD with GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Hands-on hardware testing and system integration experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver robotic mechanical components and subassemblies.
• Perform component sizing and validation via first-principles analysis and FEA.
• Own designs from concept through production release with external manufacturers.
• Collaborate with systems, controls, electrical, and firmware teams to integrate designs.
• Plan and execute component-, subsystem-, and robot-level testing to characterize performance.
• Contribute to mechanical design standards and knowledge sharing.
