Job summary

iRobot Corporation in Bedford, MA is seeking an undergraduate student for a full-time internship from January through June 2027, with potential extension through Fall. You will work 40 hours per week, commute to the Bedford office, and contribute to innovation projects under engineering supervision.

You will test robotic components, assemble prototypes, and support CAD tasks using CREO, while documenting outcomes and learning from experienced engineers in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Strong academic record and broad scholastic experience.
• Experience with manufacturing methods including machine shop equipment and 3D printing.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and document innovation workstreams under supervision.
• Test and evaluate robotic components and subsystems.
• Assemble and refurbish prototypes for testing.
• Provide feedback, analyze and debug performance-related issues.
• CAD support for design changes and participate in design reviews
• Develop test metrics and run tests to evaluate new designs
• Research new technologies and fielded examples of relevant adjacent technologies
• Write reports documenting how the robot satisfies requirements
