Job summary

Symbotic, headquartered in Wilmington, MA, is seeking an Intern- Robot Manipulation to contribute to real-time software that controls robotic manipulators with high accuracy. You’ll collaborate with engineers on cross-functional teams, explore data structures, and help bring motion planning and control software from concept to implementation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering or related field.
• Experience with Linux, C++, Python, Matlab.
• Knowledge of Git, Jira, Confluence or similar tools.
• Familiarity with DevOps/CI-CD – GitHub automation and Docker or Jenkins.
• Experience with simulation tools such as MuJoCo, NVIDIA IsaacSim, PyBullet.

Responsibilities

• Brainstorm with engineers on cross‑functional teams to conceptualize and develop real‑time high‑performance software for robotic manipulation.
• Apply best practices to data structures and algorithms for simplicity and performance.
• Develop motion planning algorithms and state machines for robotic manipulators.
• Design, develop, and implement control software for end‑of‑arm tools and grippers.
• Simulate robot motion and support system testing and integration across hardware and software.
