Job summary

Amazon is building next-generation robotics systems, and we need hands-on Lab Engineer IIs to own and operate test environments that prove robots are production-ready. You'll manage test fixtures, lab equipment, and motion capture systems while repairing prototypes to maximize uptime.

As the team grows, you may mentor new technicians and possibly move into a lab manager role. If you're energized by robotics, hands-on problem solving, and scaling a lab from the ground up, we want to hear from you.

Qualifications

• Lab resources, equipment, and supplies management.
• 5+ years in a technical lab/robotics/automation environment.
• Troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems and controls.
• Hardware repair, prototyping, and component testing.
• Lab operations: stocking, fixtures, and station PCs/webcams.
• Ability to read CAD drawings, schematics, and SOPs.
• Adherence to safety protocols when operating lab equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot test environments, fixtures, and lab equipment to ensure high availability and uptime.
• Perform robot repairs and hardware rework to maintain test readiness, diagnosing root causes and corrective actions.
• Build, test, analyze, and validate robotic prototypes and subsystems using motion capture systems and lab instrumentation.
• Deliver engineering artifacts including test reports, work instructions, and lessons learned.
• Assess lab operations, lead process improvements as new labs come online.
