Job summary

BD is seeking an Engineer II – Robotic Lab Automation to support automation solutions for new product development testing of flow cytometry antibody reagents. You will help implement, optimize, maintain, and troubleshoot automated workflows, collaborating with scientists, engineers, and automation specialists to translate laboratory processes into scalable automated solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related scientific discipline with 1–2 years of relevant experience.
Master's degree with 1+ years of industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Support operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automated laboratory workcells and equipment.
Perform routine instrument checks, cleaning, calibration, and preventative maintenance.
Collaborate with scientists and automation engineers to understand workflow requirements and assist with automated solutions.
Support execution and optimization of automated methods to improve efficiency, throughput, and reproducibility.
Participate in programming and testing of liquid handling and automation systems.
Identify workflow bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
Assist with integration and validation of automation hardware and software components.
Develop and maintain documentation including SOPs and test reports.
Provide training and day-to-day support for platform users.
