Job summary

FieldAI’s Irvine team designs risk-aware, field-ready AI systems for robotics. We are seeking an infrastructure-focused engineer to design, build, and maintain core infrastructure components including CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, and deployment frameworks.

You will collaborate with development teams to ensure reliability, observability, and security, automate provisioning with IaC, and improve system efficiency. This is a hands-on, hardware-tested role in Irvine.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years in software engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure roles.
• Proficiency in Python or TypeScript.
• Experience with AWS/GCP/Azure and container orchestration.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (AWS CDK).
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry).
• Strong networking, Linux, and security fundamentals.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain core infrastructure components such as CI/CD pipelines, build systems, monitoring tools, and deployment frameworks.
• Develop and implement scalable solutions for service reliability, observability, and performance.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize infrastructure for high availability and fault tolerance.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using tools like Ansible or similar.
• Improve system efficiency by automating recurring tasks and eliminating manual processes.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal uptime and security.
• Maintain and enforce best practices in system design, security, and code quality.
