Tutorintelligence in Watertown, MA is seeking an engineer to evaluate hardware from suppliers, integrate it into robotic systems, and coordinate with supplier engineers in Mandarin and English. The role involves extensive travel to China and working on hardware that's moving toward production.

You will review designs, test interfaces, and design mounts and harnesses, while maintaining strong test and measurement practices. This position emphasizes flexibility and hands-on hardware leadership.

Qualifications

• Fluent Mandarin and English (bilingual technical communication).
• Experience working with suppliers or factories in China.
• Hardware design, testing, and integration for robotic systems.
• Willingness to travel frequently (China trips).
• Mechanical or electrical engineering depth with hardware shipped to production.
• Experience hiring or leading engineers.
• Firmware or embedded experience.

Responsabilités

• Evaluate new hardware, characterize arms, actuators, sensors and related components.
• Review suppliers' designs, identify weak points, and propose changes.
• Design mounts, harnesses and interfaces; integrate hardware into robots and test for reliability.
• Collaborate with suppliers' engineers on-site to move projects toward production.
• Communicate requirements clearly to suppliers and internal teams; write specifications.
• Build prototypes and translate learnings back to the design team.
