Job summary

DoorDash Labs in San Francisco is seeking a Hardware Prototype Engineering Technician to build and service test platforms and robotic systems. You will own end-to-end test fixture buildouts, develop wiring harnesses, and integrate sensors, computing systems, and electronics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on technical experience in mechanical, electrical, computer, automotive, or robotics industries.
• Proven ability to assemble prototypes, build wiring harnesses, and follow engineering instructions precisely.
• Strong reading of schematics and datasheets with accurate interpretation.
• Soldering, crimping, and cable management in lab or shop environments.
• Experience with 3D printers, diagnostic instruments, and standard shop tools.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, repair, and troubleshoot complex electromechanical systems including test platforms and robotic vehicles.
• Own end-to-end build and delivery of test fixtures and prototypes.
• Develop wiring harnesses, assemble compute systems, and integrate electronics and sensors.
• Perform root cause analysis, calibration, and diagnostics on vehicle and computer systems.
• Document assembly procedures for repeatability and maintain organized lab inventory.
