Job summary

Simbe, Inc. is seeking a Hardware/Mechanical Engineering Intern to help design, test, and improve the Tally autonomous robot platform.

You will work with our Hardware Engineering team on a defined project aligned with current priorities, mentored by a dedicated hardware engineer, and join a structured cohort in Burlingame, California. The internship focuses on building physical robotic systems, with exposure to design, prototyping, testing, manufacturing, and field deployment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Product Design, or a related field.
• Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, Fusion 360, Onshape, or similar.
• Hands-on experience building, prototyping, assembling, or testing physical systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mechanical component design or redesign.
• DFM/DF A improvements, prototyping, bench testing, reliability improvements, or manufacturing support.
• Create and update CAD models, drawings, and related design documentation.
• Build and evaluate prototypes using fabrication and prototyping methods.
• Conduct bench testing, collect data, document results, and identify design improvements.
• Support design-for-manufacture and design-for-assembly efforts.
