Job summary

10Beauty, a robotics startup, seeks a Field Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electro‑mechanical and networked systems at customer sites in salons, stores, and hotels across NYC and Northern New Jersey.

You will travel up to 75% within the territory, work from customer sites, and coordinate with remote engineering teams. Equity and benefits are included for full‑time employees.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in relevant technical field.
• 1–4 years field service or related experience; or internship with electro‑mechanical systems.
• Troubleshooting electro‑mechanical systems (motors, actuators, sensors, Raspberry Pi, Arduino).
• Experience with Linux or Raspberry Pi (navigation and logs).
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS/DHCP, and basic switches/routers.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, maintain, and repair electro‑mechanical and networked systems at customer locations.
• Diagnose hardware, software, electrical, and network issues with systematic troubleshooting.
• Decommission failed units and return them to HQ for investigation.
• Configure, test, and validate LAN/WAN connectivity and network equipment.
• Maintain service records and work orders in the field system.
• Travel within NYC/NJ territory up to 75%, and occasionally to HQ or other geographies.
• Communicate clearly with customers about issues and actions; coordinate with remote teams.
