Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Robotics Engineer to advance robotic systems for PIE and mechanical testing in a hot cell at the Materials and Fuels Complex. You will program autonomous and collaborative robots, develop tooling, and apply AI/ML to improve robotic efficiency.

You will join a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers, with a 4x10 schedule and Fridays off, contributing to cutting-edge PIE in a nuclear materials research environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in robotics or related technical field with 3+ years of robotics ops/development experience.
• Experience with cobots and programming robotic systems.
• Knowledge of AI/ML methods applied to robotics.

Responsibilities

• Develop scripted programs for autonomous robotics in hot cell environments.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers.
• Develop tooling and techniques to increase robotic efficiencies.
• Support operation of robotics-enabled research equipment and experiments.
• Apply AI/ML, LLMs, and sensor methods to improve robotics performance.
• Adhere to INL policies and participate in safety and qualifications.
