Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group in the United States seeks an experienced Robotics Online Programmer to bridge mechanical design with advanced robot control, programming, simulation, and validation of robotic workcells.

You will apply mechanical engineering principles, lead EOAT and automation cell design, and conduct safety and reachability analyses per industry standards. Waterjet applications support may be involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience.
• Expert-level experience programming 6-axis robots.
• Hands-on Yaskawa Online Robot Programming experience - Must.
• MotoSim simulation experience - Must.
• Experience with ANSI/RIA R15.06 and ISO 10218.
• Experience with robot reachability and payload analysis.
• Experience with robotic system risk assessments and safety methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Apply mechanical engineering principles with advanced programming and system analysis.
• Lead the mechanical design of automation cells and EOAT per ASME Y14.5.
• Perform robot reachability studies and payload analysis (torque, CG, inertia).
• Simulate robotic systems using MotoSim.
• Conduct risk assessments and safety analyses per ANSI/RIA R15.06 and ISO 10218.
• Integrate safety PLCs, light curtains, and fail-safe mechanisms.
• Design and program complex robotic workcells.
• Serve as SME for high-level robot logic and motion profile optimization.
• Support applications involving waterjet cutting when applicable.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Robotics Online Programmer with a strong background in mechanical engineering, robotics programming, automation, and system analysis. The ideal candidate will bridge physical system design with complex robot control logic and be capable of designing, programming, simulating, and validating robotic workcells.

Core Responsibilities

• Apply strong mechanical engineering principles along with advanced programming and system analysis capabilities.
• Lead the mechanical design of custom automation cells and End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT) while ensuring adherence to ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Conduct robot reachability studies and payload analysis, including joint torque, center of gravity, and moment of inertia considerations.
• Perform robotic system simulation using MotoSim.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and safety analyses in accordance with ANSI/RIA R15.06 and ISO 10218.
• Integrate safety PLCs, light curtains, and fail-safe mechanisms to support a safe operating environment.
• Design and program complex robotic workcells.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for high-level robot logic and motion profile optimization.
• Support robotic applications involving waterjet cutting when applicable.
