POSITION OVERVIEW
Alliance Automation is seeking a Robotics Engineer to design, program, commission, and support industrial robotic systems used in custom automation equipment. This position is intended for an automation professional with strong hands-on robotic programming, integration, troubleshooting, and commissioning experience. The Robotics Engineer will take technical ownership of robotic applications while working closely with Controls Engineers, Mechanical and Electrical Designers, Machine Assembly, Applications, Project Management, and customers. The Robotics Engineer supports projects from concept and simulation through programming, integration, runoff, installation, and customer acceptance. This position is expected to remain hands-on and capable of solving difficult robotic application and integration problems both at Alliance Automation and at customer facilities.
Program, configure, commission, and troubleshoot industrial robotic systems for material handling, machine tending, assembly, dispensing, welding, palletizing, vision-guided applications, and other automated processes.
Integrate robots with PLC/PAC systems, machine controls, safety systems, vision systems, end-of-arm tooling, servo equipment, industrial networks, and other automation components.
Develop robot programs, motion strategies, frames, payload configurations, recovery routines, and application-specific logic. Optimize robot motion, cycle time, reliability, and overall system performance.
Support robotic applications from concept through customer acceptance. Identify technical risks, assist with project planning, support machine integration, and help projects meet performance, schedule, and customer requirements.
Develop and improve robotic programming standards, reusable routines, documentation, troubleshooting practices, and commissioning methods. Share robotic knowledge with Controls Engineers and technicians to increase the overall robotics capability of Alliance Automation.
A successful Robotics Engineer does more than program robots. This person takes ownership of robotic applications, develops reliable and maintainable solutions, reduces commissioning time, improves cycle time and equipment performance, identifies technical risks before they become project problems, and helps increase the robotics capability of the entire Controls Engineering team. The result is robotic systems that are safe, reliable, maintainable, efficient, and ready to perform in production.
