We are currently seeking a Robotics Engineer to join our fast paced, diverse, and safety centric team.
Summary: The Robotics Engineer is responsible for designing, testing, and building robots that are productive and safe to operate. With minimal supervision, the Engineer will debug computer programs used to run robotics systems, process sensor data, calibrate robots or approve robot designs. In addition, the Engineer will investigate mechanical failures, perform maintenance, design robotic systems or create backup programs for robotic systems.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides technical support to Hiwin Sales representatives and customers on all Hiwin robotic products;
- Utilizes CADD software to create blueprints and schematics for robotic systems;
- Develops software and processes that dictate robotic systems functionality;
- Builds and tests the robotic system's individual parts or the system as a whole;
- Builds the prototype and analyzes its functions while looking for and fixing flaws;
- Performs continued research and development for feasibility, design, operation or performance of robotic mechanisms, components or systems and future next-generation improvements;
- Meets with customers to review product requirements including product design and function. Some travel may be required;
- Documents all project information for the successful completion of each job. Maintains engineering files containing customer criteria and specifications, drawings, and compliance to Electrical codes;
- Provides training to Hiwin Sales representatives and Distributors on all Hiwin robotic products;
- Reviews test samples against drawing and customer specification. Documents all necessary modifications;
- Attends product review meetings. Provides feedback pertaining to product design;
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams;
- Attends trade shows and conventions to provide technical support to Hiwin Sales representatives.
Job Qualifications:
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Robotics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering;
- Relevant coursework and interest in linear motion, mechatronics, and robotics;
- Previous experience in the development and implementation of automation, robotic simulation, electrical design, programming, schematics, control system integration, repair and analysis of electrical applications of automated machinery;
- Two years SolidWorks software experience or equivalent;
- Demonstrated ability to work with manufacturing operations. Good understanding of manufacturing processes, CNC machine tools and CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing);
- Proven experience with AC & DC motor drives, programming (PLC & robot), servo motion control, robot simulation software, pneumatics, and safety PLCs and controllers, required.
