Job summary

REV Robotics is seeking a hands-on embedded software engineer who can design and build test fixtures for robotics hardware, and also work on the embedded devices under test. You will own and improve build systems for C, C++, and Java projects, and collaborate across software and hardware teams to validate platforms.

The role involves developing on Linux, using single-board computers like Raspberry Pi, and ensuring rapid, repeatable validation workflows throughout the product life cycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proficiency with CMake and Gradle; configure for Java, C, and C++ projects.
• Experience developing on Linux and with single board computers like Raspberry Pi.
• Hands-on embedded software experience with Linux and bare metal.
• Programming in C/C++, Java, and Python; Git and collaborative practices.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; good time management.

Responsibilities

• Design and build test fixtures for robotics hardware and the software to run them.
• Develop fixture control software on single board computers running Linux.
• Develop embedded software on tested devices to support testability and debugging.
• Create and improve build systems for multiple projects (C/C++/Java).
• Automate build, test, and release workflows for quick validation.
• Collaborate with hardware, product development, and QA teams on test coverage.
• Analyze test results and fixture data to drive improvements.
• Participate in code reviews.
