Job summary

Walden Robotics is seeking an EH&S Lead to own the environmental, health, and safety program across our growing robotics development and fabrication activities in Cambridge, MA. You will establish regulatory compliance, manage hazardous materials, battery handling, and shop safety, and serve as the bridge between engineering, Facilities, and our external EH&S consultant.

This role requires 7+ years in EH&S within hardware/manufacturing settings, strong OSHA knowledge, and excellent communication

Qualifications

• 7+ years in EH&S, hardware/robotics or lab
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and general industry safety standards
• Experience with hazardous materials programs; lithium-ion battery safety preferred
• Independent worker with ability to scale engagement hours as needs grow
• Strong communicator with technical and operational teams

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day EH&S compliance, including OSHA recordkeeping, reporting, and general safety standards
• Develop and manage safety programs for robotics hardware and battery handling, storage, and shop safety
• Serve as liaison between engineering, Facilities, and external EH&S consultant
• Conduct workplace safety audits, hazard assessments, and inspections
• Manage incident reporting, investigation, and corrective action tracking
• Develop and deliver safety training, onboarding, and equipment-specific training
• Partner with Facilities on emergency preparedness, evacuation planning, and ergonomics
• Translate consultant guidance into actionable, day-to-day programs
• Support permitting and inspection needs for hazardous materials storage
