Job summary

Viam, a New York–based robotics platform, seeks a Senior Developer Advocate to grow its developer community and drive activation on the platform. You’ll build robotics projects, create technical content, and represent Viam at events and online, while working hands-on with hardware and software.

Strong candidates will have production software experience (Python/Go/C++/TypeScript), a knack for clear explanations, and a passion for engaging with developer communities.

Qualifications

• Experience as a software engineer building production software used by real users.
• Ability to scope, build, debug, and iterate on software projects with limited direction.
• Proven track record of creating high-quality technical content for developers.

Responsibilities

• Build creative robotics projects that show developers what’s possible with Viam.
• Turn projects into tutorials, videos, sample code, workshops, demos, and talks.
• Represent Viam at conferences, meetups, hackathons, and other developer events.
• Grow engagement across Viam’s Discord and other developer communities.
• Experiment with emerging technologies and developer tools and identify opportunities for Viam.
• Build, assemble, test, and troubleshoot the software and hardware behind demos.
• Bring feedback from developers to Product and Engineering to guide focus.
