Job summary

Amazon's Cosmos team is seeking a Software Development Engineer I to help build and scale real-time data infrastructure that collects, processes, and delivers telemetry from robotic workcells across the fulfillment network.

You will design, develop, and maintain components of the Cosmos data pipeline, work with Java and TypeScript services, and collaborate with robotics engineers, data scientists, and BI engineers to monitor and optimize performance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain components of the Cosmos data pipeline, including event ingestion, stream processing, and data lake storage.
• Write clean, well-tested production code to support real-time and batch data processing.
• Collaborate with robotics engineering teams to onboard new event types and data models into the Cosmos platform.
• Participate in operational excellence activities including monitoring, alarming, and on-call support for team-owned services.
• Contribute to code reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning within an agile development team.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in distributed systems, working across service boundaries when needed.
