Job summary

Amazon Cosmos team is seeking a Software Development Engineer I to build and scale real-time data infrastructure that collects, processes, and delivers telemetry from robotic workcells across Amazon’s fulfillment network.

You will work on ingestion, streaming, and data lake storage, using Java and TypeScript services deployed via CDK, with Kinesis, Flink, and Athena powering the stack. Join a fast-paced, high-impact team that enables operational insights at scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered software applications.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain components of the Cosmos data pipeline, including event ingestion, stream processing, and data lake storage
• Write clean, well-tested production code to support real-time and batch data processing
• Collaborate with robotics engineering teams to onboard new event types and data models into the Cosmos platform
• Participate in operational excellence activities including monitoring, alarming, and on-call support for team-owned services
• Contribute to code reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning within an agile development team
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in distributed systems, working across service boundaries when needed
