Job summary

Actalent, based in Saint Louis, MO, is seeking a Robotics/Mechatronics Engineer to design and implement industrial control systems. You will program PLCs, develop HMI/SCADA applications, and support system integration, FATs, SATs, startup, and commissioning activities.

The role requires collaboration with customers and cross-functional teams, strong communication, and willingness to travel up to 50% to support project work across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering or related field.
• Experience with PLC programming and industrial automation.
• Knowledge of industrial networks and communication protocols.
• Ability to troubleshoot control systems in plant environments.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
• Ability to travel for project work as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement industrial control systems.
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs (Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, etc.).
• Develop HMI and SCADA applications, including Ignition where applicable.
• Support system integration, FATs, SATs, startup, and commissioning activities.
• Work directly with customers to define requirements and deliver solutions.
• Create technical documentation including functional specifications, IO lists, and test plans.
• Collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, technicians, and field teams.
