Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred).
  • 5+ years in controls engineering with leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and safety systems.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and select drives and motors.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop control systems using PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA.
  • Lead development and modification of machine control hardware and automation software.
  • Control Systems Design & Integration for the Tablet Press Division, including hardware selection.
  • PLC and HMI configuration and programming.
  • AC/DC drive and motor selection, configuration, and commissioning.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 79, UL, CSA, and CE standards.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical Engineering in Press Design and functionality.
  • Provide remote troubleshooting and customer service support as needed.
  • Develop product manuals, validation, and documentation.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.

Job description

Job DetailsJob Location: MO 26 - Saint Charles, MO 63304Designing, developing, and implementing control systems for industrial automation projects. This role involves managing project scopes and budgets, & ensuring compliance with relevant standards and safety regulations. Develop new and modify existing electrical control systems, PLC, HMI programs for industrial controls systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and develop control systems using PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley CompactLogix, ControlLogix, Beckhoff), HMIs, and SCADA systems
  • Lead the development and modification of machine control hardware and automation software
  • Control Systems Design & Integration for the Tablet Press Division including but not limited to programming and hardware selection
  • PLC and HMI configuration and programming
  • AC/DC drive and motor selection including servo, configuration, and commissioning.
  • Maintaining compliance with various electrical industry and safety standards like NEC, NFPA 79, UL, CSA, and CE.
  • Work with Mechanical Engineering in Press Design and functionality
  • Assist customer and technical service with customer service issues when needed including remote troubleshooting of installed equipment
  • Assist in developing product manuals, validation and documentation.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
QualificationsQualifications and requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical engineering principles, particularly three phase motor control theory
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Must know Studio 5000
  • HMI development with Indusoft Web Studio
  • SQL Database development & reporting
  • Servo Motion Control Experience
  • Experience with safety systems.
  • 5+ years of experience in controls engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Proficiency in programming PLCs, HMIs, and using tools like MATLAB, SolidWorks, AutoCAD.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., DeviceNet, ControlNet, Ethernet/IP
Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with experience in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology preferred.
