Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a Cell Operator to handle system upkeep and operations of automated adapters interfacing with the Symbotic structure. You will work to achieve performance targets and utilize Human/Machine Interface terminals to operate equipment.

The role sits within the Customer Operations group that drives uptime, safety, and system performance through collaboration with onsite customers.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with mechanical automation systems.
• Ability to prioritize work for uptime and throughput.
• Ability to work independently following procedures.
• Willingness to work in heights and in restricted areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-production checks on automated adapters ensuring equipment is ready to run.
• Monitor the flow of the automated storage and retrieval system to maximize throughput.
• Prepare pallets for induction into the system.
• Identify causes of system stoppage and restore service using HMI and manual intervention.
• Escalate issues impacting production to leadership.
• Maintain system uptime through robot recovery and bot health actions.
• Conduct periodic inspections including cleaning, lubrication, tolerance checking.
• Report out-of-spec conditions and perform root-cause corrective actions.
• Operate HMI and follow radio procedures.
• Perform rover bot upkeep (wheels, sensors, etc.).
• Participate in automated robotic vehicle recovery in the Matrix select system.
• Other duties as assigned by leadership.
