Job summary

Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) seeks a Software Engineer to design, develop, and test Ground Control Station (GCS) and C2 systems for distributed unmanned systems. You will work across graphics, mapping, UI/UX, messaging, and cross-platform integration to deliver robust operator tools.

The role emphasizes collaboration, reliability, and scalability, with focus on real-time systems, CI/CD, and secure, modular software development for multiple OS families.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with backend languages such as C++ and C#.
• Interest in UI/UX design and operator-focused interfaces.
• Familiar with geospatial tools and 3D graphics pipelines.
• Experience with gRPC/Protobuf or similar messaging frameworks.
• Experience with OpenGL/DirectX and graphics engines.

Responsibilities

• Perform software development, debugging, modification, and documentation.
• Design, test, and develop software to meet program requirements.
• Develop and maintain kernel and user-level software and scripts.
• Contribute to reports, white papers, and proposals.
• Create and analyze network protocols.
