Job summary

Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) in Atlanta seeks a Software Engineer for a full‑time research faculty position. You will design, develop, and test software applications, lead teams, and set software lifecycle practices across Java, C/C++, Python, and other languages.

You will work on autonomous systems, embedded software, and DEVOPS workflows, collaborating with DoD sponsors and transitioning technologies to practice. US citizenship and security clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience developing software for complex systems using disciplined approaches and processes.
• Experience developing software in C/C++ languages.
• Experience with scripting languages including bash and Python.
• Experience using Linux GCC compilers and related build/debug tools.
• Experience developing software on Linux and deploying to Linux targets.
• Familiar with multi-threaded and multi-process concepts and IPC mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Perform software development, debugging, modification, enhancement, and documentation.
• Design, test, and develop software to meet program requirements.
• Develop and maintain kernel and user-level software and scripts.
• Contribute to research reports, presentations, white papers, and proposals.
• Create and analyze network protocols.
