Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a Mechanical/Robotics Engineering Technician for our Product Support and Development - Mechanical team in the Manufacturing Division. The role blends hands-on design, problem solving, and direct customer collaboration to develop automation solutions for safer and more economical production.

Employees work in a small agile team on design reviews and solution integration, with emphasis on delivering results on time and within budget while

Qualifications

• 2+ years of technical education or equivalent training/experience.
• 2+ years in three or more areas listed (Automation, Materials/Processes, Mechanics, Manufacturing Engineering, Electronic manufacturing).
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Clear and effective communication (written, verbal).
• Willingness to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Background check and drug test required by SEL.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on design work and problem solving with customers.
• Collaborate on problem statements, solutions, and integration; ensure on-time, within-budget results.
• Develop automation solutions for safer, more reliable production environments; assist with CAD work for new or tweaked designs.
