Job summary
GE Vernova in Allentown, PA is seeking an Automation & Robotics Technician to install, maintain, and optimize automated equipment and robotic systems on the manufacturing floor. You will work with engineers, maintenance, and production staff to keep systems safe, reliable, and productive.
The role requires an associate degree or technical cert in mechatronics, robotics, or industrial automation, plus 2+ years in manufacturing.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in mechatronics, robotics, industrial automation, electrical, or mechanical technology.
- 2+ years of manufacturing or automation experience.
- Basic knowledge of industrial robotics, PLC systems, electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical systems.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain robotic systems and automated production equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on robotic cells, conveyors, sensors, and automated machinery.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system issues.
- Assist with programming, editing, and troubleshooting PLC programs and robot programs.
- Work with HMI interfaces to monitor and adjust system operations.
- Support automation engineers with new equipment installations and system upgrades.
- Participate in commissioning and startup of new robotic cells and systems.
- Respond to downtime events and collaborate with production teams to resolve issues.
- Maintain documentation of repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities.
- Follow safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures.
