Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain software that orchestrates robotic warehouse operations. You will build services coordinating AMRs, inventory movement, task routing, and order fulfillment, while ensuring high availability and scalable performance.

You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, observable software and contribute to architectural decisions, testing, and production readiness in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java or Kotlin; familiarity with Flutter/Dart.
• Experience building distributed systems and APIs (Kafka, MQTT).
• Experience with key value stores (Redis) and NoSQL.
• Understanding of software design principles and architectural patterns.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications supporting warehouse automation operations.
• Build services that coordinate AMR fleets, inventory movement, order fulfillment, and workstation activities.
• Develop scalable APIs, event-driven services, and user-facing applications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code; participate in design reviews.
