Job summary

igus Inc. in East Providence, RI seeks an Automation Integration Technician to transform engineering designs into functional, tested automation solutions. You will lead technical integration, commissioning, troubleshooting, and prepare systems for customer acceptance and deployment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or technical degree with hands-on automation/robotics experience, and some travel to customer sites. A competitive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent combo.
• Hands-on automation, robotics, controls, integration, or commissioning.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, BOMs and schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Review BOMs, drawings, electrical docs, software baselines, IO requirements and FAT criteria.
• Provide technical direction to assemblers and ensure builds meet documentation and quality.
• Configure robot controllers, networks, sensors, actuators, IO and perform IO verification.
• Commission released systems and diagnose integration issues.
• Execute pre-FAT testing, support acceptance testing, document configurations and changes, assist with installation and startup.
• Identify opportunities to reduce engineering intervention and improve efficiency.
