Job summary

Emerge in Dover, NJ seeks an Automation Engineer to lead design, simulation, and implementation of robotic manufacturing systems. You will oversee end-of-arm tooling, grippers, and fixtures from concept through installation and production, automating manual processes and supporting robotics through programming and troubleshooting.

ITAR compliance is required. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Automation/Robotics/Mechatronics with 5+ years in robotics or automated manufacturing, and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Automation, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related Engineering field
• ItAR compliance requires U.S. person status and work eligibility in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship
• Strong 3D CAD and mechanical design experience from concept through production
• Knowledge of GD&T and mechanical design
• Experience with machine builders, tooling suppliers, fabricators, and vendors
• Experience with robotic assembly, automated part handling, and fixturing
• Troubleshoot mechanical, tooling, and robotic systems during commissioning and production
• Experience with pneumatic, electric, servo-driven, or compliant tooling
• Strong project management, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
• 5+ years of engineering experience in robotics/automated manufacturing preferred

Responsibilities

• Design and simulate robotic systems including end-of-arm tooling and fixtures
• Lead automation projects from concept to production in collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Automate and optimize manual processes and support robotics through programming
• Develop preventive maintenance requirements and training materials
• Support capital project development including scope, cost estimates and ROI
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to technicians and engineers
• Evaluate emerging robotics and automation technologies
