Job summary
BlueScope Coated Products in Kalama, Washington is seeking an Automation Engineer to lead design, installation, and integration of robotic and automation equipment within CPNA’s Maintenance and Engineering team.
You will develop reliability standards, maintain up-to-date drawings, train operators, and explore new technologies to improve performance and reduce costs, while adhering to BlueScope security and safety practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
- 3 years of automation/robotics/mechatronics project work.
- Experience with automation project implementation from feasibility to handover.
Responsibilities
- Lead equipment procurement, installation, commissioning, and training projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies for new robotics or automation equipment.
- Direct maintenance and reliability activities to meet targets.
- Train operations and maintenance staff on new systems.
- Research technologies to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Support other maintenance activities as needed.
- Ensure secure protection protocols per BlueScope standards.
- Support digital/customer experience initiatives with integrated tech.
