Job summary

We're supporting a technology consultancy delivering robotics projects for clients across industrial and autonomous systems.

They're looking for a Robotics Architect to lead the design and integration of perception systems that allow robots to understand their surroundings and operate reliably.

Responsibilities

• Define perception architectures, from sensor inputs through to outputs used by planning and control systems.

• Guide development across object detection, tracking, segmentation and scene understanding.

• Integrate cameras, LiDAR and other sensors, including calibration, synchronisation and sensor fusion.

• Select suitable algorithms, models and compute platforms for real-time operation.

• Lead testing across simulation and physical hardware, improving robustness in varied operating conditions.

• Work with clients to define requirements, guide technical decisions and support engineering teams.

Requirements

• Strong experience designing and delivering perception systems for robotics or autonomous platforms.

• Deep understanding of computer vision, 3D perception and sensor fusion.

• Strong C++ and Python skills, with experience using ROS or ROS 2.

• Experience deploying perception algorithms on physical robots or autonomous systems.

• Understanding of latency, compute constraints and GPU or edge inference optimisation.

• Experience leading architecture decisions and mentoring engineers.

• Comfortable engaging with clients and travelling to support project delivery.
