Job summary

FANUC America Corporation in Union City, CA, seeks an Applications Engineer (Physical AI) to support FANUC robot products in physical AI, external motion control, virtual commissioning, and digital twin technologies. You will collaborate with sales and engineering to enable regional growth.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in CS/EE/ME or related field, 3+ years in robotics integration and motion planning, strong Python/C++, ROS2, Docker, and Linux skills, with travel across the West region

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering and integration of industrial robotics automation.
• Minimum 3 years in motion planning or related field.
• Experience with simulation/emulation software (FANUC Roboguide, RoboDK, MoveIT, Process Simulate).
• Strong coding skills (Python, C++, CMake) in a distributed environment.
• Experience with ROS planning and ROS2, computer networking, Docker and Linux OS.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical leader and SME for physical AI and virtual commissioning applications, guiding customers and sales.
• Visit key accounts, train and strengthen customer skillsets.
• Provide pre- and post-sales technical support including feasibility studies, simulations, and demonstrations.
• Investigate issues, perform root-cause analysis, and communicate with cross-functional teams.
• Develop new applications and market opportunities with sales and product teams.
• Support customers with setup/integration of robot options and iRVision systems.
• Transform partner requirements into reliable technical outcomes.
• Improve FANUC robotics software framework and product reliability.
