Job summary

Brightpath Associates LLC seeks an Applications Engineer to bridge robotic systems and customer applications, translating requirements into deployable solutions and validating them on real hardware. You will support training and field feedback across mechanical, controls, software, and vision disciplines.

You will own requirements and projects, integrate sensors and motion subsystems, develop test protocols, and deliver products with customer training and ongoing improvements.

Qualifications

  • Experience with sensors and motion systems (encoders, laser range finders, camera optics, load cells).
  • Experience delivering products to customers, including requirements definition, training, and feedback iteration.

  • Experience with object-oriented programming.
  • Experience CAD, GD&T, engineering drawings, and metrology concepts.

Job description

The Applications Engineer will bridge robotic systems and customer applications by translating customer requirements into deployable solutions, validating them on real hardware, and supporting training and field feedback. The role works across mechanical, controls, software, and vision disciplines.

What You\'ll Do
  • Requirements & project ownership — Translate customer needs into specifications, objectives, requirements, and timelines, and drive projects from definition through delivery.
  • Systems integration — Work across interdisciplinary teams and subsystems, integrating sensors and motion systems such as encoders, laser range finders, camera optics, load cells, and related technologies.
  • Test & validation — Develop and execute test protocols, document results according to industry-standard requirements, and validate systems on real hardware.
  • Customer delivery — Deliver products to customers, conduct training, and improve applications based on field feedback.
  • Engineering definition — Apply CAD, GD&T, engineering drawings, and metrology concepts to define and verify application requirements.
Required Experience
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams and complex systems.
  • Strong understanding of sensors and motion systems, including encoders, laser range finders, camera optics, load cells, etc.
  • Experience delivering products to customers, including requirements definition, training, and feedback iteration.
  • Experience developing and executing test protocols and documenting results according to industry standards.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming.
  • Experience with CAD, GD&T, engineering drawings, and metrology concepts.
  • Experience creating and executing project objectives, requirements, and timelines.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with robotic arms, particularly FANUC and Universal Robots systems.
  • Understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes such as drilling, routing, and welding.
  • Master\'s degree in computer science, robotics, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in aerospace and MRO environments.
