Job summary

The ESAB Group Inc. is seeking a Robotic Application Specialist in Denton, Texas. This role is responsible for ensuring ESAB Welding and Cutting Products remain ahead in safety and innovation. The Specialist will assist customers with product recommendations related to Robotic Welding Solutions and support the Sales Team.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree in Welding Engineering, solid experience in welding processes such as Robotic GMAW and GTAW, and must be capable of developing qualifying welding procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Welding Engineering or equivalent experience in applications or welding engineering role.
  • Demonstrated technical abilities, and experience with welding processes including but not limited to Robotic GMAW and GTAW.
  • Demonstrated technical competency in FCAW, GMAW, GTAW, and welding for general fabrication.
  • Demonstrated experience with qualifying welding procedures to the AWS (D1.1 or D1.5) and/or ASME codes.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform all processes in all positions robotically at the instructor level.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Technical Solutions Manager on market needs and value-added activities.
  • Support Sales Team in selling, training, and demonstrating ESAB Solutions.
  • Work with machine shops for testing PQR plates.
  • Develop PQR and WPS procedures for end users.
  • Write technical reports for procedure development.

Robotic Application Specialist

Reporting to the Director of Applications Engineering, the Robotic Application Specialist is responsible for ensuring that ESAB Welding and Cutting Products remain a world leader in safety, innovation, efficiency, quality, and work environment throughout the organization including both production and non-production functions. The primary focus of the Robotic Application Specialist is to assist customers with product recommendations and identify and assist in the development of applications for the customer’s needs related to Robotic Welding Solutions.


Responsibilities


  • Working in collaboration with Technical Solutions Manager to actively pursue ideas in developing market needs/strategies and value-added activities.

  • Support Sales Team in selling, training, demonstrating, and validating ESAB Solutions.

  • Work with internal and external machine shops for testing PQR plates.

  • Develop PQR and WPS procedures for end users.

  • Write technical reports to support procedure development.

  • Work with Technical Solutions Manager to support activities in our Denton laboratory working on productivity solutions and trips to customers in North America.

  • Other duties as assigned or required.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform all processes in all positions robotically at the instructor level.


Working Conditions


  • Remains in a stationary position 50% of the time and involves additional physical demands such as ascending/descending stairs, walking, stooping, and standing.

  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working/visiting manufacturing and plant locations.

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery including but not limited to printer, tablets, cell phones.

  • Moves, transports, puts, or removes equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.; pushes, pulls products weighing up to 200 lbs. using provided safety tools.

  • May be exposed to varying weather during travel.

  • Domestic travel requires support engineering/sales activities 10%-20%.
