Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Thermal Development Technician for robotic welding on the Starship program. You will maintain, program, and operate robotic systems, supporting heat shield manufacturing and integration of protective materials.

The role requires experience with robotics, CNC, and electrical systems, with strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills. Exposure to aerospace manufacturing is preferred; typical shifts and overtime may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with hand or power tools beneficial.
• Experience operating and maintaining robotics and CNC systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, program, and operate robotic and automated systems on TPS heat shield manufacturing and integration.
• Provide maintenance on vacuum/chamber CNC machines and robotic welders.
• Replace/install electrical components such as switches, relays, transformers, sensors for temperature/pressure/position.
• Replace/install mechanical components like bearings, motors, pulleys, gears on system equipment.
• Support fabrication of ceramic billets, tiles, gap fillers, coatings for TPS.
• Document processes precisely to enable repeatability of material processing.
