Job summary

Impact Solutions is seeking a Welding Automation Applications Engineer to lead pre-sales technical efforts for robotic welding cells. This role focuses on evaluating prints for weld feasibility, defining equipment/tooling, and crafting high‑margin automation proposals. The position is based onsite in Pewaukee, WI with light travel and a direct-hire pathway.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in welding automation or robotic systems, deep MIG/TIG knowledge, and CAD/layout proficiency. U.S.

Qualifications

7+ years of welding automation or robotic systems integration experience.
Solid understanding of GMAW/MIG, GTAW/TIG processes and robotics in welding.
Proficient with CAD tools for cell layouts (AutoCAD/SolidWorks).
Strong professional communication for client-facing engineering.
Resides within driving radius of Pewaukee, WI; U.S. citizenship or green card holder.

Responsibilities

Serve as the main pre-sales technical contact for welding automation projects.
Architect welding automation concepts, selecting processes, tooling, and cell layouts.
Develop technical proposals with layouts, cycle times, labor estimates, and BOMs.
Coordinate weld process trials and feasibility testing.
Travel to customer sites (~15% domestic/international) for requirements and reviews.
Ensure compliance with AWS D1.1, ASME IX, and customer specs.
