Job summary

FORKEY CONSTRUCTION & FABRICATION INC. is seeking a Weld Robot Operator for Cortland, NY. You will program, operate, and maintain automated welding robots to produce high-quality welded components and ensure safety and efficiency on the shop floor.

Shift options include 1st and 2nd with a 10% differential on the 2nd shift. Responsibilities include setup, monitoring, routine maintenance, and collaboration with engineering and QA to optimize welding parameters and quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience operating automated welding equipment or robots in a manufacturing setting.
• Basic understanding of welding processes and safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate welding robots according to production schedules and specifications.
• Monitor robotic welding processes to ensure consistent quality and adherence to safety protocols.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on welding robots to prevent and resolve operational issues.
• Collaborate with engineers and quality control personnel to optimize welding parameters and improve product quality.
• Document production data, maintenance activities, and any deviations or incidents during the welding process.
