Job summary

Lake Air Products is hiring a 1st Robotic Welder Operator or Welder C for its Vadnais Heights, MN facility. The role involves programming and setting up fixtures, welding components, and assisting in fixture design to enable efficient production.

The position requires familiarity with robotic welding, blueprint interpretation, and quality checks. Excellent teamwork and precision are valued in this growing contract manufacturer serving medical, aerospace, and industrial markets.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years programming experience preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of robotics and welding preferred.
• Reading blueprints and performing all necessary measurements.
• Ability to weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.

Responsibilities

• Program and set-up the fixtures to hold metal components for assembling structural forms, using knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements.
• Participate in fixture design to facilitate productive and flexible welding of production parts.
• Develop templates or tooling to hold and align parts; install fixtures for holding metal parts, torch, or arc welding equipment.
• Observe tests on welded surfaces, such as hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimension tolerance to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications.
• Clamping, holding, tack-welding, heat-bending, bolting, or grinding spare parts as necessary to satisfy the technical requirements and create a welded final product.
• Control the processes of fitting, burning, and welding to avoid problems in relation to overheating, distortion, expansion or shrinking of spare parts,
